Age Old Sealer Question - Perfect Seal

Starting the reassembly of my lower unit and realized I hadn't ordered any sealant. So, looking for Perfect Seal it appears nobody carries it anymore. The same with Loctite A. In the past, Aviation Gasket Maker was listed as a possible replacement for Perfect Seal but it sounded as though it was an imperfect match. Given all the thread searching, I didn't find a definitive answer for a replacement with today's technology of product lines. Anybody have an update on current products to use?

Thanks...

I have always used the Aviation. Same same. Good stuff. The one I currently have is LocTite brand.

Thanks. Do you know if it is the same as the Permatex Aviation Form A Gasket since Locktite bought out Permatex?

Ayuh,.....Permatex #3 is an exact copy of perfect seal, liquid, non-hardening,.....

#1 is like the aviation form a gasket I've seen,.....
Liquid, but hardens,....
'n of course, #2 is the non-hardenin' paste,...

Thanks, I found the Locktite aviation version and ordered it. I also got a note back from Locktite that says Locktite Type A is still available. Not sure where to order it though...
