Age this outboard,

I just bought this boat and motor for a small upgrade on the fishing boat i had, but the guy didnt know the year of the outboard, its a 40hp and the guy reckoned it was 1998 -2001 true?

the serial number is oc 295570

the only problem i can find is the prop is a little damaged. wheres a good place for find a reasonable priced prop?

1993 should be close. Not sure exactly. Those motors stayed largely the same for a long time. Go up to the Marine Store tab. iboats has the best prop prices you'll find. Yours is probably repairable.

how would you go about repairing it,
id rather spend the money on other things.... than buy a new one.

the pitch on the origonal prop is a 12, whats the major difference in getting a different pitch.
how does the scale go.
1 to ????
1 = more top speed
25= more acceleration

or is it the other way around,

im looking for a little higher top speed for towing the kids in a tube behind us.
