My cousin has a Yamaha F150TRX. I have been out with him several times and the engine runs fine idle and WOT. Sometimes after idling for a while if you cut the engine off you have to pump the bulb a couple times for the engine to crank, but it cranks fine after the pump.
Somewhere along the way it was suggested to install a clear fuel line from the bulb to the engine to look for air in the line. Sure enough there are air bubbles showing up all the time in the line. Some are even rather long but as you watch them go in, the engine never misses, hiccups, sputters or anything.
Should he be concerned with this as he going crazy trying to stop this thinking it is a problem, or would we all see bubbles if we had a clear fuel hose?
Is he taking even more of a risk off shore with a clear line that probably isn't marine grade than just living with pumping the bulb maybe once a day?
