I was wondering if anyone knew of a small portable air conditioner that would work good for a cuddy cabin boat. We will sleep on the boat from time to time but its just getting too hot now. I want a unit that is 1000-5000btu that isn't very big. Any ideas or suggestions?

I think 5000 BTU is about 10 amps. @ 120 vac. SOOO 12vdc is about 100 amps. Looks like a 120 vac only setup.

Thanks. I checked out google too. I was looking for a small one that would cool a cuddy cabin. The one you have in the picture would work fine. I would run it off shore power. Those things are expensive. Also, wanted one with some type of thermostat. Most just have a 2 speed selection. I don't wnat to freeze my butt off.

I wonder if they make a 1000-2000 btu unit.

Does anyone know for sure about the/ marine / USCG/ or any odd regulations? Or can a regular home window be also used. Salt water will shorten its land life?
