Air Gap?

How do you set the air gap on the stator plate of a 1990 Johnson 30? I am installing a CDI power pack relocation kit and part of the process involves swapping some components there.

Set the air gap according to the service manual, using the correct gauge ring; OEM part #0334994 or CDI part #553-4994.​
