air intake question???

i have a 88 venture tournament edition bass boat with a johnson gt150. i was looking at the hood and was wondering if i took the plastic plates off behind the two vents on the sides (of the hood) would it hurt anything? also are there any easy mods?

Rest assured that the engineers that designed the motor provided for an adequate air intake supply. You will gain nothing by doing stuff like you are contemplating.
