Hi everyone,
I'm back with another question.
I have a omc turbojet boat that has the johnson 115 outboard motor.
I took it out to the lake after 5 years of storage. I replaced all the fuel hoses except for the one coming from the fuel tank.
Well on Sunday when I took the boat out it seamed like it has having a fuel starvation issue at higher rims. It idles just fine, and low to .mid throttle is fine too. You can go WOT but the engine starves of fuel after a minute or so. She restarts just fine after she dies out. After running it like that for a few minutes i seamed to me like It was running fine while the fuel bowls still had gas. Once it ran out it died but started up very easily. I tried used the choke on the starter switch and the fuel going to the carb was very bubbly. The choke lines have clear fuel hoses.
So I used clear fuel hoses from the tank. To the carbs. I eaven pulled out the fuel tank pick up and resealed the fitting. I ran it again and I couldnt get any air bubbles in the line.
Could it be a fuel tank fitting that was sucking in air?
I checked compression when I got home to be sure it wasn't an issue with the cylinders. I got 120, 125, 125, 130.
Pulse limiter in clear with no Clogs.
Fuel pump seams to be sucking in fuel well, but is ther a way to test the fuel pump side of the vro to make sure it is supplying enough fuel at high rpm.
Any other things I should check before I go out again. Sorry for the long post. Its just that the lake is an hour away and I would like to rule out the most things I can before I trailer the boat out again.
Thanks,
