Air silencer Question 60 hp Rude

Could someone please tell me what the small hose that goes from the base of the air silencer to the intake manifold does?

It is to return fuel to the engine that may end up in the silencer cover.When you tilt the engine forward its common to get a little fuel spill.

I believe it allows any excess fuel/oil that may spit from the carbs to be drained and burned thru the engine.

Thanks Guys It was off when I pulled the silencer and the hole was plugged. Got it cleared and back on.
