Hi all,
Just going to re-install the ball gear shaft into the intermediate housing of my 1978 OMC stringer 400 sterndrive, and I have a quick question.
Should I be putting a little aircraft sealant on and around the stainless shim that goes between the seal/bearing retainer and the intermediate housing? I would assume not, but I cleaned a bit of sealant off the shim and mating surfaces after removal..
