I have a 1997 Bayliner 2050 SS. When I start the boat the alarm continues to sound and does not go off like it usually does. Does anyone know what may be causing this problem? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I have only had the boat for a few months. Can list all of the fluids I need to check? Thanks!

Could be the high temp buzzer. Whats the temp gauge read?

It should all be explained in your owner's manual. I'm not trying to blow this off but there are differences in boats and design. Best you do it right then for me to guess over a pc. But your oil level is a good place to start. As
4runneradam mentioned what is your water temp reading? How long do you let it run before shutting it down? Check your bilge, any oil in there? It also could be something as simple as a faulty sending unit - doubtful however. Sorry for being so vague.

Check the gear lube fluid level. The sort of clear white container is in plain site in the upper right area on your engine if you are looking at from in the boat (if you have a mercruiser 3.0 Alpha). It has a bluish liquid in it

I had this happen to me and was just rip out the alarm because I couln't figure out why it was going off. Turns out I was below the fill mark.
