I have a 5.7 vortec 2bbl carbed 350 mercruiser bravo engine. I have an alarm that does not sound when I start the motor, but once running will go off if there are any "problems". Yesterday I was cruising, and it went off once then stopped, then went off then stopped. Then nothing for an hour of cruising. Then we went to head back in and, it went off steady and would not shut off, The oil pressure never dropped below 20lbs, and coolant never above 175. the engine did not miss a bbeat.

So I disconnect the lube bottle sensor plugs, and the coolant sender two wire harness. Neither would cause it to shut off. If i turn the key off it shuts off.

What am I missing?

Re: Alarm Mayhem

Do you have a Serial number for your engine? Alarms have changed on some engines, and you have nothing posted that tells us even the year of your boat, let alone engine info.

Just noticed, you didn't mention disconnecting the oil pressure switch (switch, not gauge sender).
