Force 150 Engine Alarm Sound
Took it out for the first time - In the middle of the trip got a high pitch alarm sound coming from battery area. I am not sure what it would be for - Two new battteries - New water pump (Good water flow) new thermostat......Only other piece of info was the mechanic that commissioned the boat mentioned a lower than normal reading from the charging system ~ 13v when reving.

Stopped half way back to port???

Reading the posts here there and everywhere - Seemed like an overheat is a buzzing sound not sure what the different sounds means etc......Thanks for the help!

Not many boats have a buzzer at the batteries. They are usually under the dash. Near the key switch.
A 150 Force has an overheat alarm.Long loud tone.No others I know of.
You have a bildge blower?Probably not as it's an outboard. If so the bearings could be bad.
Did it ever restart? Do a compression test and then check the water pump.
There are many floating bags in the waters these days.

Yep - Ran fine after and when hooked up to the muffs flushing the engine. Didn't know if it might be a ground problem etc.
Where I am brand new to boating didn't know what the overheat sounds like. It did have good water flow coming out the back which was warm - not hot...........

Try grounding the wire to the overheat sensor in the head .with the ign on that will bring on the over heat and you will know what it sounds like .

Well found the source - The bilge pump float is not working and when I manually engaged the pump with the switch I got a high pitch alarm sound! Still concerned about the amount of water flow through the system and the temprature of the water exiting the block - Any rule of thumb on how hpt/cool that should be - I checked the manual - Nothing!

Thanks
