Alarm?

I just got my boat running, but right in the control panel where the throttle and choke is theres an alarm type sound comming from it when i first start it. The first time it went off by itself and the second time i had to turn the key off and restart it. can anyone tell me what that alarm is for?

possible engine temp warning buzzer but odd unless sensor is bad that it would go off right when started. What type motor and specs?? only guessing for sure if we dont know the motor.

its an 88 evinrude vro 40 hp, its only done it twice just cant figure out why

could be a wire grounding out? My warning light started almost immediately also. Turned out as I was throttling up the lever inside pushed against a wire causing the light to flash on.

I have a 92 40hp and the alarm went off when the engine was not getting oil.
Try squeezing the bulb on your oil injection line, if applicable, and check the line for any obstructions.
