Alarm

So I'm just curious. I have a 2002 90 horse Merc. on my party barge. Runs great. Couldn't be happier, but reading some of the threads has given me cause to wonder about my temp/oil alarm. I know I have one because I've seen it. Is it supposed to chirp at me when I start the motor or do anything else to let me know it's working?

Maybe not. Some of those had a button to push to test it. The ones that come with a module will beep when you turn the key on before engaging the starter.

Mine has a little inline Piezo under the dash.

Gotcha. So how can I tell whether mine should do anything at startup to let me know it's working.

Look for a test button directly in front of the oil tank cap.
