I have a simple question. I think i am correct i just need someone to tell me for sure. I am getting ready to align my engine in preparation for reinstalling the outdrive. Anm I correct in assuming that all of the engine ajustment to facilitated by adjusting the front motor mount up or down ? i am assuming that I should not mess with the rear mounts on the transom plate. Am I correct ?

Re: Aligning Engine on OMC sterndrive

I am hitting the top of the engine coupler on mine so it seems I need to lower the front mounts to raise the coupler. The front mounts are all the way down though. In the manual it shows two nuts in between the big washer and the upper mount. The upper nut is for adjusting I gather. My problem I have is that there is only one nut there and the motor is all the way down already. How can this be corrected?

Are the stringers solid and the rear mounts tight and not sinking into rotted stringers?

All looks fine. No sign of any bad areas.
