aligning my merc 3litre 4cyl

i have an '89 alpha 1 that i am checking the alignment on. i have the tool and i have the seloc manual and its ok, just wanted any more info that might help from the experts! thank you.

Ayuh,.....

Slather a good bit of Grease onto/ over the end of the Bar,+ Slide it In.....

Does it slide in nice,+ smoothly,..??
Does it slide out nice,+ smoothly,..??
If it Does,..... You're Done......
If it Doesn't,....
Wipe the grease on again,+ slide it in, then out, nice,+ Straight.....
Then Look at the Grease,.... You should be able to see the coupler's Tracks in the grease.....
Then adjust the motor so the Tracks are even all around the bar.......
Then you're Done.....
After you tighten the jam nut on the adjuster anyways........

Get the factory manual, search in here, it may be on-line for free.
The Seloc ain't even good enough to put by the toilet.
