Re: Alignment Tool

Shame on you. That is a Probe error. Someone should fill your turnout boots with Bisquick.

Re: Alignment Tool

I do not believe it is solicitation to try to find someone in my area that has or may know of a dealer to borrow a tool. Where else would you ask such a question.

Re: Alignment Tool

The alignment bar is not something that is a one time use item. You need it every time the drive is off, and that should happen at least once a year. If you plan on doing your own maintenace, the buy one.
Ebay sells them all the time for 40 to 60 bucks. Merc dealers can order you a new OEM one for even more, or you can make one if you have a lathe, there is a drawing up in the Adults Only-DIY stickies.
If you want to borrow one from your local dealer, ask them. But I doubt they lend them out.

Re: Alignment Tool

Buy one on eBay for around $30 or get the specs on one and have a machine shop make it out of Cold Roll Steel should not cost more than $15 from a Machine Shop. I had one of my co-workers make me one as I work for a pretty big Job Shop.

the specs are posted in many posts on this forum.
