Hey Bigkash.
My manual, which is the one for your motor, says and I quote " wet oil-fuel deposits are caused by drowning the plug with raw fuel mix during cranking, overrich carburetion or an improper fuel-oil ratio. Weak ignition will also contribute to this condition."
Hope this is of some help...Dave

Re: all 6 plugs black oily sooth plugs

my v6 have 3 carbs, and all 6 plugs are getting real black and wet, checked it today after i clean them and ran for 15 mins (SMOKES ALOT TOO).
it runs good even planes and goes good but then after 3 min on plane it would loos rpms and then die, very hard to start back...see i dont now why all 3 carbs would run rich all of a sudden...bought motor off ebay. i'm new to the oil gas mixing thing as this is my first outboard, i poured the oil in the gas fill and then poured the gas hoping the inrushing gas would mix with the oil in my thank...

there is a posibillity that i might of addded to much oil. I do have a manual too

i would like some response from the outboard veterans out there...thanks

couple of questions:
new gas or old?
was it put up with fuek in the carbs?
maybe you just got some bad gas

possible that all of the floats are stuck but not terribly likely.

how did you mix your fuel? may it is just too much oil.

perhaps you can borrow or mix up a new tank and try again.

could be ignition related. after she dies, if you let her cool-off for a while, does she start any easier.

let us know what you find

You probably did this when you bought new plugs but check to see if you have the right heat range. Does this engine also have oil injection? If so, is it still operating?
