One minute everything working correctly. Shut off engine, go to restart, everything dead. Gauges, starter, everything except trim to raise/lower the outdrive. Battery terminals secure and clean. I am thinking ignition switch.

This is on a 1992 Century Mustang with 4.3L Mercruiser I/O....

Please help!

Check the 50 amp breaker on the engine and the 90(?) amp fuse on the starter. Could also be the ignition switch as you mentioned.

This is a stupid question, but I always like to ask the stupid questions. When you say 'everything is dead' does this include aux items like lights, radio, etc that would ordinarily work w/o engine or ignition being 'on'.

I like the advice of fuses and breakers.
