A prop exactly like the one I have now. After looking at the hundreds and thousands of possibilities, i'm lost. Yes, a newbie here.
Question: How do I know if I have a "thru hub" exhaust or not? I have a 89 Force 125. I thought the exhaust snout was above the prop on my model. Just a prop like I already have.

I have a "15" imprinted on outside of hub between blades. The blades are 6 1/2" long from center of hub. There are three blades. I don't think it's a thru hub exhaust. What prop do I have?
I don't think i'm going to get any response here.

It's apparently a 13 (13-1/4) diameter x 15 pitch. Without a picture, or someone who knows Force engines its tough to tell what you have. But seenms to me an '89 Force would be through hub in that HP range. If you can see through the prop (between the blade area and the hub of the prop its a through hub style.

The prop has holes? in the hub. I can see thru the "slots"/"holes". So, I'm assuming it is a thru hub exhaust. What is this "exhausting"? I really only see a seal or metal plate behind the hub and thru the holes.
Thanks for replys.

Right here on iBoats. Scroll up to the top of the page and click the "Marine Store" button. Select props, enter you engine make, HP and year and they will list the available prop pitches. Pick one and there will be several props to choose from.

Exhaust from the engine goes out of the lower unit through the hub of the prop -- hence the term 'through hub exhaust". The holes under the cowling at the back of the engine are exhaust relief holes as without them the back pressure at idle would make the engine idle rought. Buy your prop right here on iBoats. Scroll up to the top of the page and click the "Marine Store" button. Select props, enter you engine make, HP and year and they will list the available prop pitches. Pick one and there will be several props to choose from.

Re: All I need is......

You most likely have a non thru hub exhaust prop. Although, some of the thru hub props will work on your prop shaft. Anyway, you should have a black plastic "flare Washer" that the prop nut holds to the prop hub. Factory calls it an "anti cavitation washer" If you don't have it, dont worry -- it is not an absolute necessity. Non thru hub lower units have the water pick up slots on the gearcase torpedo just behind the prop. Thru hub exhaust units have the water pick up slots above the torpedo between it and the cavitation plate. Thru hub exhaust units are dual exhaust and also have a functioning exhaust snout.

I do have water pick up slots on the gearcase torpedo just behind the prop. So I have a "non thru hub exhaust"?
