it is not unusual to get a stern wake, in a quick stop. Good bilge pump!!! it is a problem with those low slung boats and heavy sterns.

Is the 150 too big for that 16' boat? do you have other stuff in the stern (fuel, batteries, you) that can be shifted forward? Although your post was largely unintelligible, it sounds like you have a dangerous set-up.. As you learned, moving away from the stern wake isn't always possible. Also try slowing down more slowly rather than going from full to stop.

I also have a low stern, I always slow down and then turn around as i am coming to a stop, that way i take the wave at the bow. You just have to take that into account.

Well i am slowing down at a very slow rate, the boat either is on plane or it isn"t , there doesn"t seem to be much of a happy medium, but i well try to move some of the weight forward as advised thank you ..

Dealing with stern wake occasionally is part of boating, but neither "huge wake follows water came all the way over driver and passeger seats or one third of the boat was covered" nor having to do a 180 each time you stop is normal; you each have dangerous set-ups. If Biffle is running a racing boat alone, fine, but you can't go carrying victims--I mean, passengers--in a situation like that.

Actually, its quite normal for these small speed boats that are low to the water. My Charger DL does the same thing. If you slow down from being on plane, the water can come up and over unless i give it a tiny bit more gas. Love how you imediately jump on endangering lives though.
