I just wanted to say you guys were correct!

I posted several months ago about how in late summer my 4.3L VP would stall after hitting a wave. The problem seemed to have fixed itself when I tried it again during the off season. The boat ran great in Feb. when attempting to get it to stall again. Everything was the same, except for cooler weather. The general consensus from this board was that it was a fuel starvation issue.

Well, we finally got a few warm days here and I went to launch the boat again. This time it would not even start. I poured a few drops of gas directly into the carb and the motor would run for a couple of seconds. Following the excellent advice from here, I connected an aux. tank--the motor fired right up. The line from the tank to the fuel filter was dry! Replaced the aluminum antisiphon valve with a new brass one (the parts guy said the aluminum ones are problematic) and that motor just purred. Gonna take it out again, but I'm confident the problem is solved.

Now you know...the rest of the story. Thanks everyone for your suggestions
