happened about 15 years ago, was at a lake where some one was doing the "sitting on the back of the seat thing" and slid off in to the lake .. some how he manage to swim clear of the boat now running circles at about 1/2 throttle. There were a lot of boats lined up at a dock that was not far away. We were concerned that the circleing boat (full tank of fuel) would eventually run into the docked boats. I had a bunch of ski rope in my boat and asked a couple of other people if they had some too.. We came up with about 5 ropes. Taking two boats and staying clear of the rampaging boat we laid the ski rope out in the boats path. About 5 circles later the boat picked up the ski rope and tied it up around the prop. It kept running but it was bairly moving and we got on board... The cost ... 2 ski ropes ... pretty cheap considering. I was amazed by the moron that fell out showed up later that day with two new ropes !

Re: All tied up

i have seen that happen also. it was with a pwc though. someone must have got tired of putting the cutoff lanyard on the lifevest. so they just wrapped it around the handle bars. the two sped off in a nowake zone made a hard right turn and off they went. the pwc still idleing at high rpms from not bein warmed up yet made a couple of big circles before it came to a stop on a rock about two foot from the bank. knocked a hole the size of a baseball in the hull. oh well wasnt me.
