She saw them on TV this morning being reviewd by New York City network personalities. (?!)

Black and Decker Alligator Loppers. Electric cutters combining chain saw teeth in jaws like a lopper.

"Cuts branches up to four inches in diameter!" said the TV announcer with the $200 hair do and manicured nails... javascript:void(0)

$100.

Have any of you seen or used this product?

Re: alligator loppers?

I saw them on TV last night. Not sure if I would buy them, cause I have a chainsaw that does just fine. But for those that are intimidated by chainsaws, it might be the ticket. Cuts up to 4" limbs and such, so it would be handy for the occasional use a homeowner might encounter...

Saw that. Looks attractive, but. . . .

I don't have a 700' extension cord. :(

try not to offend anyone, but that looks like a yuppy tool. For the guy that has 2 small trees in his subdivision yard and wants a nifty tool that any lopping sheers or a good saw would do just as good.

Just my thoughts, havn't actually tried the tool, but that's how most of this junk seems to be.

I have never used the tool personally, but a landscaper friend of mine has them and he loves them - uses them all the time and swears by them for the small stuff. Says its much easier to use than a full fledged chain saw.

It sure as heck is a LOT safer for the average person with limited tool skills :)

Compared to the stupid human chainsaw tricks that end up in the ER :(

tommays
