Sorry folks.

I am sure this has been asked before.

Has anyone found the magic potion to clean a aluminum hull?

I have a 1985 Alumaweld that I would like to clean up. All mothers does is turn my buffing wheel black. Then I can not get the black out of the small pits in the aluminum.

I we can put a man on the moon. We should be able to clean a boat hull shouldn't we?

If you know of something that works really good. Is there anything else that can be done after the aluminum is shinny to keep this from happening next time?

Thanks.

D.J.

Re: Alluminum hull cleaning.

Well, here's where my being into RV's and boats pays off :D

Try looking at some of the polishes and treatments made for the Airstream RV's. You see some of those things that are polished like a mirror.

"Nuvite" is one product that comes to mind, here's a link to the "How-To" here:

Polishing an Airstream

Just a thought, hope it helps!

-Roger

Thanks for the info about polishing. I was getting ready to post the same question.
