almost burned my garage down

I was trying to start my motor 1987-70hp johnson. I have it hanging on the back of my garage. A gallon of gas in a anti-freeze jug. I was touching a hot wire to the primer to give it a shot of gas and 'FLAME ON" the whole front of the motor went up in a ball of fire. I looked at it for about a half of a second thinking about running to my boat and grabbing the fire extinguisher but figured by the time I did that the garage would be burned down. I jerked off the muffs and used the water to finally put it out. I learned my lesson. I will have the fire extinguisher handy next time.

Amazing how quick something can go from good to bad real quick, glad you got it under control. How much damage to the motor
