Re: Alodine question

Apply alumniprep with gloves and scrub away(make sure all dirt, grease and other crap are gone. Wash off with water, then pour on alodine then usually I just rub in with my gloves(different pair), make sure you get all the area with alodine-one minute per area is good enough-do not let sit for 5-10 minutes and more as it becomes very high build, ugly looking and does not seal as well. After that minute of pouring on then wash off with water.

Although you have alodined it, I always add a primer or sealer to it(Zinc Oxide is my choice)just in case you missed a spot or the surface was not prepped well.

I used to be an aircraft mechanic so my hands used to be orange for weeks.

Re: Alodine question

I have never heard of that product. Primer? Sealer? Either way, Alodine is a good base for priming and/or painting for as long as the surface is properly prepped-I have done it over a couple times just to make it perfect. Be careful of alumniprep as it likes eating away aluminum(and skin) if left on a while. But one of the best corrosion prevention products out there.

Tip:For larger objects/areas, people put it in a pressurized spray gun to apply it(for the D.I.Y.-pesticide sprayer?).
