alot of 83 omc control questions

i have a 83 70hp johnson. i got the boat with the controls but no key. do they make a replacement key lock cylinder and replacement parts?
my other question is since the control is 25 years old would it be better to just replace the controls all together??

also im doing a resto on this boat and know nothing about its history. all i know is it has great compression.

look on the surface of the switch, where the key goes, should be a # on it. that is the key # that fits the lock. we can find you a key. there should be nothing wrong with the controller, may cables need to be replaced, but check it out first. i just do not like aftermarket controls.

i dont like aftermarket controllers either, but ill go look at the #.
