Hello, I've got a 1995 mercruiser 5.7L I/O with an Alph 1 outdrive, new to boating and I am switching propellers. I have read on previous posts that I have to straighten the spider washer before taking off the nut. Is the spider washer reusable? Will the new prop come with a new washer if it is not reusable? Does anyone know of a link with instructions, I couldn't find one so I thougt I'd aske here. Thanks in advance.

Joe.

Hi :)

Yes the spider washer is reusable, no problem :)
So just straighten it, skrew off the nut, replace the propeller, and put the nut and spider washer back on, and bend the spider again..

Wow, thanks for the quick response, any suggestions on which lube to use on the shaft?

Bondo is correct.... but Mercury 24-C lube or Special 101 is preferred.

Ok, so it took a little while for the new prop to get here but now its on and replacing it was too easy. Thanks for the advice.
