Hi, Can anyone tell the gear ratio of my alpha 1 gen 1 outdrive by the serial number?* oc893180*

Is it supposed to be stamped somewhere as I cannot find it?

It's connected to a mcm5.0mpi 2006 ow385827

Im trying to use a prop calculator online and they ask for this and The number of shaft bearings between the gearbox and prop. Seeing as this is an outdrive does anyone know the answer.

I have a 22ft carver mid cabin boat weighing 2000kg at the moment its fitted with a 16" prop. I achieve 32knots at 4500 rpm. Does this sound right?

Thanks!

Glenn

Ayuh,... I can't look it up by serial #s, but I'll give it a Guess...
Generally, the 5.0l, 'n the other V8s run the 1.50:1 ratio...
I'd guess by yer performance #s, that's what ya got...

Now, on some big heavy hard to push hulls,...
The 5.0l is paired to the 1.65:1 gear ratio...
That'll move yer prop selection up into the more common sizes...

Btw,... If 4500 rpms is the Best she'll pull at Wot,....
Yer borderline over-propped Now....
You should be pullin' 4800 rpms or so....
