Since I need a new lower for my #1 Drive, can someone run a serial number check to see if this Alpha drive will mate up?

Serial # OC485906. There was only one picture, and the whale tail on the drive (which I'd be removing) was blocking my view of the cavitation plate, so I couldn't tell if it was Gen I or II. The skeg was not in the pic, and the straight-on angle made it difficult to tell the position of the trim attachment point. It would be much appreciated. The upper is geared to a 4.3L, but I don't need the upper, so I'd be able to sell it.

That serial number is for a 1988 Alpha I transom shield, not the drive. So it's NOT a Gen II drive.

FYI There is a LOT of Alpha ID info up in the stickies.

Re: Alpha I S/N Check

Thanks Don, I wasn't aware that the S/N identifier was in the stickies. I figured someone with access to a Mercruiser system had to ID them, lol. Good news for me, as this whole drive w/trim system is half of what a new lower from SEI costs. Obviously a lot of unknowns with a used drive, but I should be able to break even by selling the other parts (upper unit/trim/SS prop). Gotta get that 233 drive back up and runnin'.

They are up there, kind of hard to find, but in the ID downloads. I think I will add SN ranges to the pictures, that would make it easier for people to find.

Yeah, here was the original post on Craigslist. I was looking for the thru-bolted halves, but couldn't be absolutely sure it was an Alpha I from the pic. If it had been a side-profile pic it would have much more evident, even without the serial number.
