alpha one 5.0 wont start

i have replaced slave solinoid and spark plugs . engine turns over but just as it is about to start a small puff of "smoke" comes up from under the under head gasket area. i am hoping it is just a gasket problem and not cracked block. any ideas?

Perhaps a compression test of all cylinders would be of help. If their as a big variation that would indicate a problem in one of the cylinders.

Ok looks like previous owner did not winterize . Sucks for me! Can I fix cracks with jb weld or is it a total loss.

If we can't see what's leaking, we sure can't tell you how to fix it, or even if it's fixable. Pictures are worth a thousand words.

Yes due to budget cuts they have turned off our crystal balls.......

boat can be saved, not sure about the block and heads. please post pics

Ok . Sorry no pics yet but i do have new info. Looks like engine has been jb welded before. But the white "smoke" is coming from where the exhaust manifold joins the motor. Think it might be clogged?
