Alpha one gen 1 my reverse will not engauge unless i pull the shift cable hard. forward works fine when pushing in.
Ive already adjusted it too the T with this same video. Also the shift cable is new.
Soo on the upper shoe is there suppose to be a small amout of play where the lower shoe meets the upper shoe?Did you check for excess 'slop' in the cable system? (one of the first things in the video). If the shoe (between upper and lower housing) is splayed slightly, or the grub screw in the end of the shift slide isn't set EXACTLY right, or the roller on the upper shift shaft lever is worn.... You get the idea. You have to eliminate all the places where excess movement can be introduced. That is what you problem sounds like.
As is it wiggles in there. Not to how else to say it lolDefine 'small'... (When I'm setting them up, I shoot for zero)...
How do you adjust grub screwSoo on the upper shoe is there suppose to be a small amout of play where the lower shoe meets the upper shoe?
In my video I explain how to check the slop in the system. Have you done that, and how much slop is there? As is it wiggles in there. Not to how else to say it lol
Think I'd pull the drive off and have a look at the cable area (where the cable is screwed into the bellhousing) for build up/crud keeping the cable from being pulled back far enough..Pretty sure i found the problem looks to ve that the slider doea not pull back far enough
You need to remove the pinion gear before the propshaft will come out. And you need a special tool to remove the pinion nut.Got another question to remove after removing bearing carrier will thw prop shaft come right out or do i need more special tools
