Hi guys I'm almost done thank God.. but My drive is not going in flush last 1/4 inch .. on bottom of drive it's about flush but top is abiut 1/4-1/2 inch gap ?? I didn't tighten the nuts yet ... I'm thinking the big rubber gasket inside bell housing got tangled up?? I'm also having an issue with the drive not staying in foward , I put back the shift cable But still sometimes if moving the drive a little it'll go into neutral .. so I raise the drive and move the shift shaft with fingers till it prop locks when going CCW .. but when I spin prop CW doesn't seem like the ujoint is moving ??

Ayuh,..... Could be,.... Pull it back off, 'n Look,....

As for holdin' the drive in forward, I'll tell ya what I do,....

I wrap a rubber bungee strap from the cav-plate, 'round the prop/ shaft, back up to the other side of the cav-plate,....

Then ya twist the shift foot to forward, 'n turn the prop/ shaft, so's the drive ratchets a couple of clicks, puttin' tension on the bungee strap, 'n the shift dogs in the drive, lockin' it into forwards gear,...

That rubber ring should be glued in place. If it got tangled up, it wasn't glued.
