Hi All,

88 3.7L (470) Closed Cooling System. 4" Heat Exchanger. Alpha One Gen 1.

Decided to Test my impeller this morning. Still planning to replace just as a PM Measure (Less than a year old) but we're going out today so I wanted to make sure we were ok off the muffs. This is at Idle (Sorry no Audio)

This looks like good flow to me, any thoughts?

No it does not! Looks like a good flow, but why is it coming out there? With a 3.7 the seawater is supposed come out with the exhaust isn't it? Looks like your seawater hose to the exchanger is broken or disconnected. That would be big trouble.:(

He's cool...that is where both my 3.7, and 3.0, exit the water when on the 'muffs'! Some sort of idle relief valve system.

In the water, and moving, the water will mostly exit the prop...as expected.

Happy boating!

going thru the water it sets up sorta of a vacumn at the prop and draws it out.

That is the purpose of the divergent cone on the end of the prop.

Some OMCs and others used a plastic CONvergent ring to do the same.

There now you have had your trivia for the day.

And yes that is a good flow of water. I would worry if it was coming out from both side as you have an inline engine.
