Alpha One Gen II Gear Lube Leak Upper Unit

Hey Guys,

Alpha One Gen II leaking out of a hole just about the shift shaft coupler. The drive was leaking previously from the weep hole on the lower unit, did an impeller service and replaced the quad seal...now it's leaking out of the upper unit by the shift shaft.

Evidently you only removed the lower half for the service . Guessing you mean the leak is above the lower units shaft, where it goes into the upper unit.
That would mean the carrier seal in the upper is leaking and the bellows have oil in them. If you mean its leaking out of the lower unit , then suspect a broken shift
shaft housing from trying to force the drive on when not in fwd gear.

Really need to do the recommended pressure test after impeller service. Takes away all doubt.
