Alpha One Gen One water stream?

Hi folks
I was flushing my motor after a day on the river today and noticed something odd in the lower end of my alpha one gen one. As you can see in the image, there is a water stream flowing out the right side of the lower unit. I have never noticed this until today. I tried looking this up online and came up empty. Any thoughts?

My guess is, the motor has overheated at some point in it's life, causing the shutter to burn up from a lack of water, 'n fell down into the down-pipe, blocking the exhaust flow out the prop,....

I think he's talking about the weep hole on the lower stb side of the lower
