Alpha One lower drain hole water flow question...

I have twin Alpha One OD's (1987). Just fired engines up today since winter lay up.

While the engines were running I observed the water drain holes located at the bottom rear of the units. One OD had a steady flow of water coming out of the drain hole. The other OD had a little water drizzling out, but not flowing like the other. T

The engines both came up to temperature, and didn't seem to have any problems. There were no weird noises, or anything noticably wrong.

Is this lack of flow, or over amount of flow something to be worried about?

Run the engines in gear to put some load on the engine and see if they still stay at temp.

Always worthwhile to check your impellar

Assuming you are running on muffs since you are observing water flow from the idle relief ports at the base of the gimbal housing. You should see a good flow of water coming out.
When was the last time the impellers were replaced in the outdrives? If more than 2 years, I think you have a place to look.

PS: Putting the drive in gear, while on muffs will not put a load on anything.

I thought he meant the little drain hole at the bottom of the drive. But those are usually on the starboard forward part of the gear housing, right?
