Alpha one question ???

Hello folks,
The other day I was helping a friend with his boat and we noticed small drops of oil coming from a small hole on the right front side of the lower unit, Just above the prop shaft housing. With the muffs on water comes out of the hole, is the oil dripping out of this hole normal or an indicator of a bad seal????
I can't find an answer in any of the manuals. I told him, I would ask the question here.

I was afraid of that. I told him we should preform a pressure test on the drive.
