I'm having problem with adjusting the lower unit shift cable for alpha one. I replace the outer & inner cable with no problem. The probelm is I have the lower unit in full locked in foward gear and I can not get the brass pice to be 6" from center to center I can only get it to 6.5" b/c it at the end of the tread. So any info will help.

If u look at the pic I have expanded it a little better

Maybe the inner core wire is too short?

Re: Alpha One shift problem

Can you loosen the locknut on the threaded shaft and unscrew the threaded shaft out of the outer cable more.

It should be pretty long and a separate piece, maybe it was threaded in too far into the cable. Then tighten the locknut down to hold it into place.
