I've got an Alpha one SS lower unit on my boat. Due to a huge screwup it froze last winter and cracked badly. I took it in to the local prop shop and was assured it could be welded and fixed. I since gotten it back and had to take it back to the shop without ever installing it. It keeps leaking oil out of various pinholes and from the weld job and keeps recracking. I am seriously worried about putting this back on my boat only to get out on the water and have it give out. He tells me he can fix it however, once the part is under a load I am worried it will break again. I have been unable to locate a new or used case for this particular model. It is my understanding that they are highly desireable and hard to come by. If anyone has any suggestions or know where I might locate one of these I would sure appreciate it. I am out of leads and boating season is getting awefully close....
