Alpha One Stalls When Giving It Throtlle in Reverse

Works fine in forward but stalls when trying to give it throttle in reverse.Will go in to reverse just can't give it throttle,is this just a cable adjustment or would a new
shift cable be in order??

If it's been working fine until recently, it sounds like a cable... (and shaft bushing)

Check the adjustment, but I suspect the top bushing for the upper shift shaft is leaking and allowing water into the slide cavity... Gunge is in the cavity and as the slide nears the end of travel the gunge stops it, tripping the shift interrupt switch.... If it still has the old style bushing, it will most likely have leaked....

Chris I haven't checked the adjustment yet but it will go into reverse at idle and boat will back up it just won't take any throttle and stalls
???? I did work on the remote control recently to fix the throttle only button that was broke would that have miss adjusted the control
cable??
