Alpha One Trim Cylinder Paint Chipping

I noticed this on Sunday when we were anchored. The paint on the top of the cylinder (where it connects to the outdrive) is coming off. I didn't have my camera, but was able to find an image online that shows the same thing.

I know unprotected metal and water are bad news -- but I wasn't sure if this was as big of deal since it's not part of the actual outdrive.

Engine is only a year old, so I still have the warranty.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Ayuh,... You can call 'em, 'n see what they say,...
Or, you can shoot it with a rattlecan of Rustoleum Black...
I do mine at least once a year...

do you have the springs behind the rubber bushings? there for electrolsys protection. considering how thin those tubes are, a coating of epoxy cant hurt either.
