Ok, what are the real world differences between these outdrives? considereing getting a deck boat with a 5.0L MPI 260 Hp. Is there any compelling reason to pick one outdrive over the other?

What do you gain with the counter rotating props of the Bravo III?

Thanks,
DJ

i have a 23' bow rider with a 350 and the B3, test drove the boat with a B1 and a B3 and the the B3 made a huge difference in both hole shot and low speed handling. The down side is the price of prop replacement, but my boat is 9 years old and they have yet to need replacement.

yeah, that kinda seemed obvious if only from the price difference between the 3, but I am currious to know the real differences.

The Alpha outdrive uses a Dog-Clutch,..... 2 Steel Gears that mesh with a Thud......

Bravos are Much Heavier built,+ have a Cone-Clutch........ hence it shifts Smooth.......
