Alpha1 Gen2 Removal Q

Never removed the whole lower unit. Dealer says make sure drive is in forward then remove 5/6 bolts. I bought a gasket kit too for when i go to put it back on in the spring. Anything else i need to know? d. I dont plan on rebuilding it, just removal and repaint.

Disconnect the speedo pick-up line before removing the 5/16 bolts. Also need to pop the caps and clips on the rod that holds the hyd cylinders. Remove pin. You should read the online service manual first: http://www.boatfix.com/merc/Servmanl/14/14cover.pdf
