Okay, I got my manual. I am not ashamed to admit I do not feel comfortable working on my own OMC system. I need new seals on my drive shaft in the intermediate housing. I'd rather see it done and know it's done right.

If anyone has experience or knowledge of a good OMC mechanic around Lake Lanier, I would greatly appreciate your sharing contact information.

Thanks in advance!

Duke

If you don't get a response here Dukes, visit your local marinas and ask for opinions. Whatever you do, do not go to a new boat dealer.

I think I may have a lead on one, but figured I'd try here first.

I looked at the manual, and while I feel confident in rebuilding a motor in a car, I'm rarely driving that car 20+ miles off shore in the Gulf of Mexico! I'd rather have a Pro do the work! I'll let him put a timing light to her and tune the carb while they are at it!

Thanks!

Awhhhhh Duke!

It's a piece of cake! :p

But I got to hand it to you for admitting it might be over your head.

Oh, trust me... Offshore, I can suprise myself with skills I didn't know I had! I can probably do it, but with most other skills I have, I have learned "from the horse's mouth".

You're right, I probably can. I might end up having to once I make some calls and get some prices!

Labor rates is one reason I don't pay for any home repairs, construction, automobile maint., etc! Who knows... I might be able to add another "feather to my cap" when all is said and done!

Worst case scenario: Off shore, my mechanic is VHF to TowBoat US - Money WELL SPENT!!!!
