86 3.0 chev omc . my alt doesnt seem to be charging at low rpms.
can anyone tell me a way to check this while its running at idle on muffs or should i just take it off and run it down to napa to have it checked ... when i open it up to wot it charges fine .. i can watch my volt meter climb up towards 14 volts. however it gets to almost 10 volts when im cruisen through the no wake zones at approx 1000 rpm ... only thing going is blower and radio as far as accessories.i know it can be tested just cant remember the procedure with the volt meter .. thanks in advance .. by the way .. its a new gel cell marine battery ..
