Re: Alternator

Re: Alternator

Ohms Law;

R = E^2 / P, Assuming E = 12 volts, E^2 = 144.

Example: P = 50 Watt lamp.

R = 144 / 50 = ~3 Ohms, and at least 100 watt. (BIG Resistor! HOT!!!)

Otherwise, a lot more details will be needed.
Just what are you trying to do?
Replacing a Lamp with an Exciter Resister for an Alternator!!! :confused:
Is this a Small MotorCycle question?

Re: Altenator

A Delco 10SI takes a 10 ohm resistor. Others will be similar.
