Ok,
I want to replace my Mercuiser 5.7L Altenator part number 817119-2 (Mando) with a higher output altenator.

1. What is the difference between Mando "style" and Delco

2. What Delco part number does this interchange with?

I am looking at altenators that show Merc (delco) part numbers 78403A2, 78477, 92497A3,
would these be direct replacement.
They are both three wire set ups and I only use the three wires (I see on the mado they have two other terminals, stator and something else)

Thanks

Ayuh,... Why,..?? Are you having Battery issues or something,..??

It's hard to believe you're pulling loads bigger than the stock unit can provide,...

I usually replace with what I found,...
Swapping usually means the bracketry is different,+ God only knows how far back you've gotta change things to realign the belts or something....

I can't tell you the differences in those part #s,..
You've been prusing the parts listings,.. Do they look alike,..?? Are the bracketry part #s different,..??
