Alternate tach??

I have an 81 Evinrude 50 with a bad stator as confirmed by my trusty OMC manual, rectifier is good, I know it is the stator.

I am working 3 days a week so replacing a stator is not gonna happen anytime soon, is there another way to get a tach on the engine?

You could get a Tinytach.About $40 easy install and will work on any 2 cyl. 2 stroke.If you know the motor was operating within rated specs there is no need to replace the tach right away.

I'm gonna play with props again ths year and need it.

I knew there was something, just couldn't think of the name and $40 is way better than $300-$400.
